Jessie Monroe Glover, 62, passed away Friday morning, May 24, 2013, at his home in Bryan. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday May 28, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with Reverend Jimmy Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from Noon to service time at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Monty was born January 11, 1951 in Bryan, Texas to Ruby Pearl West and James Raymond Glover. He attended school in Bryan, and joined the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60, Army Commendation Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Monty loved hunting and fishing, and playing his guitar. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. Monty retired as an Engineer Tech 3 after 24 years with the Texas Department of Transportation in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, James Wayne Glover.
Survivors include his loving wife Gay Liner Glover, of Bryan; his daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Andy Large of Haymaker, Va.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn and Willie Charanza of Deanville, Texas and Melba and David Hall of Lexington, Texas; and three grandchildren, Alyssa Large, and twins, Logan and Bethany Large, all of Haymaker, Va.; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
