Services for Jack Marino, 86, of Bryan are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bryan with Reverend Patrick Ebner officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Marino passed away Monday morning August 22, at Hudson Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Bryan.
Jack was born September 25, 1924 to Joanna Bogarilla and Charles Marino in Brazos County, Texas. Jack was the 13th child and a twin of a family of 15 children. Both of his parents were proud of their Italian Heritage from Sicily. Jack was a life long resident of Bryan and worked at Texas A&M University for more than 40 years until his retirement. He also loved ranching, carpentry, and flying with his son in his son’s helicopter. He was a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He also loved Texas A&M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of more than 50 years, Kathryn Fazzino Marino in February 27, 2000, and eight brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include two sons, Jack C. Marino Sr. and his wife, Diane, of Gause, and Peter and wife, Kathy Marino, of Plano, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan Pazzaglia and wife, Shawn-Dell, of Austin, Jack C. Marino Jr. of Austin, Katie Marino, and William Marino and wife, Ami, all of Bryan, and Rene´ Moss of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Cali Moss, and Corso Pazzaglia; and numerous other family and friends.
Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Building Fund.
