Inez M. Hicks, 68, of College Station passed away April 13, 2015 at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A celebration of her life is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.
Inez was born January 7, 1947 in Lebanon, Missouri, the daughter of Mary Margaret (Winsel) and Lester Roy Hicks. She was a manager with the Armed Forces Commissary System, and retired at Laughlin AFB. After retiring she became very active with numerous arts and craft projects. Inez especially enjoyed volunteering with various organizations that assisted children with special needs. She was a member of Cochlear Implant Association, Inc. (CIAI), formerly Cochlear Implant Club International and was the first patient to receive a Cochlear Implant in a military hospital. One of her greatest joys was her involvement with the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, where many of the members consider her as their adopted mother.
Survivors include her two sons, Troy Howell & his wife Teresa, David Howell & his wife Lisa; four grandchildren, Kylie Howell, Troy Howell, Jr., Zachary Howell, and Terasita Howell; two great grandchildren, Audrey Clair Moeller and Idina Grace Moeller; sister, Martina Goodwin and her husband Shorty; brothers, Jerry Hicks and his wife Devera, Ronnie Hicks and his wife Darlene, and Warren Knight and his wife Teresa; numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends who considered her as family.
