Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with Reverend Karl Tewold officiating. Interment will follow at Smetana Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Ernest was born July 29, 1948 in Bryan the son of Ernest Albert and Julie (Holubec) Jeske. He was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Bryan and S.P.J.S.T. Lodge #39. Ernest retired from Bryan ISD as a carpenter for 18 years, prior to BISD he was employed by Siegert Water Wells and Schnadig Corporation (International Furniture). He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and the experience of processing his own meat. He loved gardening and cooking for parties and get togethers. His biggest joy was his children and grandchildren.
Ernest is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin Jeske and Norman Jeske; sister, Betty Blinka; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Frank Hromcik; brother and sister-in-law, Milton and Angie Jeske; brothers-in-law, Hardy Erwin and Bobby McLain.
He is survived by his wife of 48 year, Lois (Macik) Jeske of Bryan; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Sharon Jeske, Richard and Nicole Jeske all of Bryan; grandchildren, Colby and Courtney Jeske of Bryan, Taylor Jeske of Richards, Baylon and Dillon Jeske of Bryan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Frances Jeske, Morris and Marilyn Jeske all of Bryan; sisters, Eloise Erwin of Sallisaw, Ok., and Julienne McLain of Deweyville; brother-in-law, Robert Blinka of Bryan; sister-in-law, Gladys Jeske of Bryan; mother-in-law, Evelyn Macik of Bryan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Havard and Donna Macik of LaGrange, and Lonnie and Shirley Macik of Bryan; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janice and Edward Zavodny of Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice Brazos Valley of Bryan and CHI Baylor St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital of Houston Medical Center for the care they gave to Ernest.
