She was born in Marshfield, WI but soon moved as a young child to Atlanta, GA (Norcross) where she spent her formative years and forged lifelong friendships. In her sophomore year of high school, her father accepted a job transfer to Tyler, TX and transplanted her family there.
She completed her Associates Degree from Tyler Junior College after graduating Robert E. Lee High School while living in Tyler.
Debra then moved to Bryan to work an assortment of jobs culminating with her employment at Texas A&M University in College Station. She worked for various departments over the ensuing years, including Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering, Biological and Agricultural Engineering, and Nutrition and Food Science. She was a dedicated worker and was on the verge of retirement at the time of her passing.
Debra was predeceased by her ex-husband Jeff Davis and her significant other Charles Benbow.
She is survived by her parents, Bob and Marge Wiersig of Whitehouse, TX, her sister Donna Emmons and family (Whitehouse), her children Maegan Davis, Thomas Peikert, and Gretchen Peikert, and her ex-husband Bradley Peikert, all of Bryan, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 5 at 1:30 pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
