Charles C. McLemore, 86, died Tuesday, January 19 at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility.
A visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, January 22 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A private family burial will be held at Bryan City Cemetery.
Charles was born January 29, 1929 in Waurika, Oklahoma the son of Dallas and Marie (Ash) McLemore. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master’s degree in Education. After graduation, he was the Assistant Registrar at Texas A&M. “Mr. Mac”, as he was known by his students retired from teaching for Bryan ISD. He enjoyed time spent with Mary, especially traveling. They went on dozens of cruises, touring Europe and traveling across the United States. In his spare and relaxing time, Charles enjoyed wood carving, oil painted and reading (voracious reader).
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Sam Ash McLemore and a sister, Fanny Lu (McLemore) English.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary (Snyder)McLemore; son and daughter-in-law, Charles D. and Marilyn McLemore of College Station; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Kenny Johnson of College Station, Cindy and Gene Fliedner of Dryden, Michigan; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
