Barbara Jean Hobson

We are sad to announce the passing of Barbara Jean Hobson, born January 28, 1936 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 87 on Sunday, May 28, 2023. There will not be a funeral held; however there will be an intimate viewing for immediate family only.

Barbara is survived by her children, Edward and wife Lillian Hobson, Kathy and husband Randy Myatt, Jon and wife Wendy Hobson. Grandchildren: Tracy Hoffman, Michelle Vessell, Jesse Vessell, Austin Hobson and Jennifer Hobson. Great-Grandchildren: Spencer Hoffman, Oliver Hoffman, Adrienne Vessell, Lance Berry, Greyson Vessell, Christian Vessell, Colton Vessell and Alex Hobson. Beloved furry babies: CJ and Harry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Irene Meyer and Leonard Edward Hester.

Barbara worked many years as a Sorority house director and enjoyed it tremendously. In her spare time she liked to paint, garden, read and travel. Barbara is known by many as "GiGi" and will be remembered for her strong, opinionated and sassy self. She has forever touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by friends, family and those who knew her.
