Alfredo Gutierrez Jr. of Bryan, Texas passed away with his family at his side on December 27, 2020. He was born on November 20, 1938 to Alfredo and Victoria Gutierrez in Williamson County, Texas. After graduating high school, Alfredo enlisted in the United States Air Force, were he quickly became top of his class.
While in the Air Force, he was given an opportunity to compete for a full education grant; Alfredo was one of ten qualifying cadets. Alfredo went on to complete studies which lead him to work in prestigious positions with the NASA Space Program, the Engineering Department at Texas A&M and the Oceanography Department. In addition to his accomplishments, he owned and operated his own business for 30 plus years; known locally as The House of Tires, and a separate location in Pasadena.
Alfredo, loved his family, his twelve children, and most importantly loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a very outstanding man, who could be described as bold and blunt at times, but would take the time to share his love for Christ with you. Alfredo will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alfredo Gutierrez, Sr. Victoria Medrano; two sons, Hector Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez; sisters, Hortensia Martinez Gutierrez, Eloise Gutierrez Cantu; brother in law, Adan Cantu.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Gutierrez; sons, Alfredo Gutierrez III, Robert Gutierrez, Felix Gutierrez, Chris Gutierrez, Patrick Gutierrez (Veronica); daughters, Linda Edge (James), Sandra Wiley (Steve), Christina Walls (Jonathan), Kathy Alvarez (Sergio), Mary Gutierrez; along with 18 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel Bryan. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00 am to 12:30pm with Recitation of Holy Rosary at 12:30pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 300 Nagle St., College Station, TX 77840. Burial will take place on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 3:00pm, El Coyote Cemetery in San Isidro, Texas.
