The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at Christian Renewal Church on St. Simons Island, GA, with Reverend Don Johnson officiating. Entombment will follow the service in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum on St. Simons Island, GA. Pallbearers will be Scott Sullins, W.O.Copeland III, Connor McHale, Drew Copeland, Steve Patterson and Scott Buckley. Honorary pallbearers will be Baker Copeland, Billy Cofer, Patrick Eades, Dr. Malcomb Wright, Hospice of the Golden Isles, Allen and Jean Berry, Byron Hoffman, Jr., Alan Hoffman, and Mack Tucker.

Visitation will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.

Mrs. Copeland was a native of AltaVista, Virginia; born October 21, 1917 to the late Harry Gammon Holt and the late Carrie Ann Moxley. She had been a resident of St. Simons Island since 1969. Mrs. Copeland graduated from AltaVista High School and attended Perry Business School. She was an accomplished artist who loved golfing and being an active member of Christian Renewal Church on St. Simons Island.

In addition to Mrs. Copeland’s parents, she is preceded in death by her husband William Oliver Copeland, Sr., a sister Violet Waskey, and two brothers John and Harry Holt.

Survivors include her children, Michele Copeland of St. Simons Island, GA, W.O. Copeland, Jr. and Maxine of Brunswick, GA, Carolyn Sullins and Bill of Brunswick, GA, and Peggy Copeland of St. Simons Island; a sister Lois Patterson of Brunswick, GA, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Friends may drop by Mrs. Copeland’s home on St. Simons Island on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 4 pm to 8 pm.
