A Mass of Resurrection will be held 11 am. Tuesday July 31, 2012 at St. William
Catholic Church, 2300 Frederica Rd. St. Simons Island, with the pastor
Msgr. John Kenneally officiating. Serving active pallbearers will be
Mr. Kane grandsons Christopher, Thomas, Michael, Brian Guenther, and
Colin Cavallaro, also serving will be Robert Cavallaro his son-in-law.
Family will receive friends Monday evening July 30, 2012 from 6 pm. To
8 pm. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Kane was born in New York City on January 13, 1932 to the late
Catherine Freeley Kane and the late John Kane. He was raised in
Roselle, New Jersey and raised his family there as well. Mr Kane had
been a resident of St. Simons Island for the past 16 years.
Mr. Kane was a graduate of Abraham Clark High School in Roselle, New
Jersey. He was a brick mason by trade during the early years and later
years he was a Deputy Sheriff of Union County New Jersey, where he
served as past president of the NJ State P.B. A. Local #108. Mr. Kane
was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the St. William Catholic
Church. He cherished his family and enjoyed spending time at St Simons
Pier, and was a longtime fan of the NY Yankee’s and Notre Dame football
team
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years Kathleen Kane of St.
Simons Island, two daughters Ann Marie of Colts Neck,NJ and Maureen Guenther
of St Simons, a son, William of Cranford, NJ., seven grandchildren
Christopher, Thomas, Colin, Michael, Brian Meghan and Grace, four
great-grandchildren. Mr Kane is also survived by a brother John Kane of
Kenilworth, NJ, a sister Patricia Dowling of Scotch, NJ, and many
nieces and nephews .
