My wife and I met Bill while on holiday in Northeastern England and have him a lift to his next destination, a family gathering on the west coast. A wonderful ride with a fine gentleman, a very interesting human being.

Bill was a devoted daily rosary/mass goer, for many years.  He was the first one in the parking lot as he had to visit his beloved wife in the columbarium, and bring her a flower. He was one of the first in church, with a big welcoming smile to the rest of us before he visited his even more beloved Jesus. Most of us were aware of this as he was a wee bit hard of hearing so like it or not we heard some of his conversations with Him. Bill poured out his love for our Heavenly Father, without reservation. He was such a humble presence in the church that he will be sorely missed, for a very long time. I’m sure all of us will continue to look over towards “his seat “ each morning and mourn our loss. Be assured we will continue to pray for Bill as has left a huge hole in our daily prayer lives. 
Requiesce in pace Bill. 

Bill was truly one of a kind.
He was a devout Catholic and a real gentleman. He will be missed by the many people he impacted.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

William Holmes was a giver not a taker.  He was philanthropic in many ways, sometimes giving anonymously.  His energy was never ending, until he took his last breath.  He came into my life at a time that I needed a hand up.  He was there for me and my mother.   No one could make her smile the way he did when he walked into the house.  I miss him so badly, the reality of his being gone has not settled in yet.   I know he is in Heaven looking down on us, he told me he would!!  Lord, thank you for putting William Holmes in my path!!
