William Dalton Dalton Collins

Dalton Collins, 18, of St. Simons Island, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at SGHS in Brunswick. Interment will take place at 10AM Saturday morning at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick. A celebration of life service will follow at 11 AM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at St. Simons Community Church with Rev. David Yarborough officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Glynn Academy Class of 2013.

Born March 19, 1995 in Glynn County Georgia to Lynwood G. and Donna J. Collins III, he was a senior at Glynn Academy. He had lived all of his life in Glynn County and was a member of St. Simons Community Church. Dalton enjoyed hanging out with friends, going to the beach, rugby and soccer. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Shirley Popham Collins.

Survivors include his parents Woody and Donna Collins of St. Simons Island, two brothers, Grayson Cody Collins of Marietta and Spencer Garrett Collins of St. Simons Island, paternal grandfather, Lynwood G. Collins Jr., of St. Simons Island, maternal grandparents, Thomas Randolph Johns and Ruby S. Robinson both of Brunswick, two aunts, Nancy Johns Alford and husband Mike of St. Simons Island, and Jennifer Johns of Brunswick, one uncle, James Carlton Collins and wife Mary Lou of Norcross, and several cousins, Andrew Alford, Adam Alford, Owen Alford, Austin Collins, and Stephanie Collins.

A reception will be held following the celebration of life in the social hall of St. Simons Community Church. Memorials may be made to St. Simons Community Church Building Fund or The Dalton Collins Scholarship Award, C/O The Golden Isles Soccer Association (GISA).
