Thomas Smith Lucas

Mr. Lucas was born April 1, 1925 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late James Herty and Lillian Barth Lucas.

He was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, after which he served in the U. S. Navy for four years during the WW Il. He began his career with The Coca-Cola Company in 1947 in the Engineering Department. He later became Marketing Manager for South Africa and retired from The Coca-Cola Company after 34 years of service.

He was a faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church were served on the Building Committee and sang in the choir for many years.

Survivors are his wife, Norma McDonald Lucas of St. Simons, a daughter, Diane Lucas Edge of Lyons, Ga., two sons, Steve Lucas and Barry Lucas both of Atlanta, Ga., grandsons, Richard, Eli, and Miles and two great granddaughters, Stephanie and Jennifer.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 O'Clock Monday January 9, 2012 at the Wesley United Methodist Church on St. Simons Island. The Family will receive friends in the Church following the Services.

The family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Building Fund of the Wesley United Methodist Church, 6520 Frederica Rd, St. Simons Island, Georgia 31522.
