Terry Ponsell

James Terry Ponsell, 64, went to be with his Savior Tuesday, August 13, 2013 where he awaits for Janet, his wife of 45 years. Terry was born in Fernandina Beach, Florida to John Thomas and Marjorie Ponsell. He was a Glynn County resident since 1969 and graduated from Glynn Academy. Terry was a loving husband; He and Janet married February 21, 1968 and had two children together: Tammy Renee Ponsell Heath (Mike) and John Thomas Ponsell. He was an accomplished painter by trade and an avid fisherman. He loved marshes and everything about Georgia. Terry also had a great love for the water and boating. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Brunswick for over 40 years.

Along with his parents; he is preceded in death by three sisters: Jane, Connie and Shirley and his best friend: Randy Spell.

Terry is survived by his loving wife: Janet S. Ponsell of Brunswick; his daughter: Tammy Renee Ponsell Heath (Mike) of Brunswick; his son: John Thomas Ponsell of Brunswick; one brother: Billy Ponsell (Brigitte) of Brunswick; five grandchildren: Kaleigh, Chelsea and Riley Ponsell, Vincent and Nicholas Heath; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 16, 2013 from 6-8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home at 11 AM with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Danny, Brent, Ron and Jacob Pike, Mike Heath and Tommy Ponsell. Honorary pallbearers include: Port City Billiards and members of the Troupe Creek Marina and Blue N Hall Marina.
