She was born on February 24, 1960 in Portsmouth, Virginia and later became a resident of the Golden Isles for the last forty years. Terri is preceded in death by her father, Commander Kenneth Steward McBurnett, and daughter, Kristin Allyn Holloway. She is survived by her mother, Betty Jean McBurnett; daughters, Leah (Justin) Yearwood, Lauren (Shane) Ellis and Lexi (Cohen) Carpenter; siblings, Keith (Linda) McBurnett, Sharon (Don) Jackson, and Joan (Will) Roberson; and dear companion of over ten years, Howard Osbourne. For the last twenty years, Terri served Glynn County as a successful accounting advisor. She was incredibly talented with all things mathematical and also had a passion for world history. Known for her sharp intellect and colorful humor, Terri captivated any room or conversation she entered. She was an avid Jeopardy fan and despite her family’s valiant efforts, Terri always remained the winner of every episode she watched. She was described by so many as being the most gracious and welcoming spirit to all she encountered. She will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, silly jokes and witty banter. Above all, the love for her family and friends will be felt forever.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 28th at 10 o’clock in the morning at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.
