It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Stephanie, a devoted wife, cherished mother, and pillar of strength, who left us February 24, 2024 at the age of 62 after an 11 month battle with Glioblastoma brain cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, bringing comfort in her final moments.
Stephanie was born June 2, 1961 in Stockton, CA to her parents Barton Miller Clowdus and Carmen Borges Clowdus. She is survived by her husband Christopher Gibson Jones, two sons Louis Winchester Jones III (Thuy-Tien) & Blake Barton Jones, and two brothers Barton Miller Clowdus Junior (Lisa), & Steven Gilbert. Stephanie earned a Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo in 1983 and worked for Macy’s Department stores (Director, Telecommunications and Finance – Macy’s Systems and Technology) between Los Angeles and Atlanta for 40 years. She and her family moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta in 1992. In 2021 Stephanie and husband, Chris built their dream home on St. Simons Island, GA to live and enjoy retirement.
Her love extended beyond our immediate family, reaching friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Stephanie had a unique ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued—a rare and beautiful gift that will be dearly missed.
In the midst of our grief, we find solace in the memories we shared and the profound impact Stephanie had on our lives. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she imparted, the love she gave unconditionally, and the indelible mark she left on our hearts.
A celebration of Stephanie Jones's life will take place on March 4, 2024 at St. William Catholic Church in St. Simons Island, GA at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Glioblastoma Foundation, reflecting Stephanie’s spirit of generosity.
