Rose Marie Dolan Purvis, 84, passed on Saturday, April 8 in her home. Rose will be remembered as a strong woman who loved her family. She held a number of jobs in her lifetime: wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a retired Registered Nurse.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, John and Essie Dolan; her husband H.L. (Lucky) Purvis; her son, John F. Long; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her children: daughters, Gail (John) Peake, Cheryl Holloway; and Terry Gironda; sons, Keith Purvis and Kirk (Jerrie) Purvis, son-in-law, Larry Harper, and daughters-in-law, Pamela Long and Teresa Johnson; her siblings: Eula Estelle (Dolly) Nagy, Gerald Dolan, Dianna Henkel, Sharon Martin, and Leslie Montagne; her grandchildren: Deanna Doherty, Craig (Katie) Gironda, Laura Jordan, Crystal (Timmy) Yeager, Wesley Harper, Trevor (Sarah) Long, Ashton (Brandon) Crawford, Michael (Cassie) Long, Max Holloway, and Kristen Long; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 12 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery. Reverend Ed Hurst will officiate the service.
Serving as pallbearers are Craig Gironda, Wesley Harper, Trevor Long, Aiden Doherty, Jordan Harper, and Timmy Yeager.
