A celebration of life gathering will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with inurnment following at 3 pm in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
Born February 1, 1932 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Joseph Forrest Knapp Sr., and Katherine C. Knapp, he was retired from the US Air Force, and The Jekyll Island Authority. He had been a resident of Glynn County since 1974 and was a member of the Kiwanis Club and Retired Military Officers Association.
He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening and reading.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie McGarry Knapp, a daughter, Karen Elizabeth Knapp, a sister, Martha Ann Glover, and a brother, Joseph Forrest Knapp, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Leslie Knapp Parker and husband Ron of Brunswick, and Linda Knapp Potts and husband Mike of Lake Jackson, TX, five grandchildren, Steven Parker and wife Meredith, Susan Parker Clark and husband Jason, Paige Parker Cody and husband Chad, Austin Potts and Jordan Potts, ten great grandchildren, Jason Mancil and wife Lauren, Justin Mancil, Trent, Ellie, Lyla, and Declan Parker, Peyton, Iris, and Randall Clark, and Camryn Cody, and several nieces and nephews.
