Peggy Clark Davis

Peggy Clark Davis, 67, St. Simons Island, died Sunday August 22, 2010 at the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 am Thursday August 26, 2010 at the Fellowship Methodist Church at 2185 Old Jesup Rd. Brunswick, GA. 31525.with Mr. Donald Pittman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Jesup City Cemetery in Jesup, GA. Serving pallbearers are David Clark, Bobby Soles, Chad German, Christopher German, Zac Dean, and Doug Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Magnolia Manor Nursing Home.

Family will receive friends from 6 pm. until 8 pm. Wednesday August 25, 2010 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.

Mrs. Davis was born October 3, 1942 in Jesup Georgia to Earnestine Clark and the late Marcus Clark. She had been a resident of Wayne County for many years moving to Glynn County in 1977 – 1999 when she moved back to Jesup where she resided from 1999-2010 moving to Saint Simons Island, April 2010.

Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Wayne County High School and was employed by Bellsouth Telephone Company as an operator from which she retired. Mrs. Davis was a member of the Fellowship Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. Mrs. Davis enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as well as crocheting and reading.

In addition to Mrs. Davis’ father she is preceded in death by her brother Charles Clark.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her two daughters Cindy Hicks and husband Tony of Brunswick, GA., and Lisa Smith and husband David of Darien, GA., her mother Earnestine Clark of Jesup, GA., two brothers Dennis Clark and wife Janice of Hoboken, GA., and Glen Clark and wife Linda of Jesup, GA., sister Betty Rose Culpepper and husband Marion, four grandchildren Rachel Dean, Tony Hicks, Jr., Meagan Smith, and David Smith , her lifelong friend Marcele Sparre, one great – grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
