Paul Otto Yawn, Sr. of Brunswick, Georgia entered peacefully into eternal rest of Monday, October 17, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was 76 years of age and the son of the late Charlie Henry Yawn and the late Bessie Pauline Yawn. Paul was also preceded in death by a sister, Faye Manning; and two brothers, Charles and Ernest Yawn.
Paul was born in Waverly, but had resided in Brunswick for the past 38 years. He was a machine operator and co-owner of a land clearing business before starting his long career in the upholstery industry. He was employed with Chris Craft and Well Craft before retiring. He and his family attended the Blythe Island Baptist Church.
Paul loved spending time with his family and friends. He always looked forward to the next social gathering. He was an avid fisherman and an outdoorsman. He enjoyed riding his four wheeler and camping. He also enjoyed watching football and was a huge Miami Dolphins fan. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Paul leaves behind the love of his life and his wife of 45 years to cherish his many memories, Delores Yawn. His other loved ones left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Tammy Yawn, Paula Yawn, Kam Yawn, Marcie Yawn, Andrea Yawn, and Ginger Williams (Ricky); one son, Paul Otto Yawn, Jr. (Kim); a brother, Troy Yawn; a sister, Christine Durrance; grandchildren, Andrew Davis (Challis) and Payton Rivera, whom Paul was like a father; also Hunter Kelly, Fisher Kelly, Brandon Yawn, Paul Yawn III; and many more grandchildren. Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, October 21, 2022 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. The family will receive friends starting one hour prior to the service.
