Norma Jacobs Owens, 85, of Darien, died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Peeler officiating. Interment will follow in Whispering Pines Cemetery in Darien.
Born October 12, 1938 in McIntosh County to the late Lawrence Oran and Alma Corene H. Jacobs, she was a graduate of Darien High School Class of 1956. She was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Owens was a homemaker and enjoyed crochet and collecting coins. I addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Roy Owens, Sr., a son, Edward Roy “Ricky” Owens, Jr., one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include a grandson, Trey Owens of Brunswick, two great grandchildren, a sister, Iona Shuman of Darien, and several nieces and nephews.
