Nancy Lee Thrun

Nancy was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Coral Gables High School in 1954. Nancy was a flight attendant for National Airlines in the 1960s. She married Alvin Thrun in 1966. Their only child Sandra was born in 1968. Nancy worked for doctors in Miami and Jacksonville, Florida, retiring from the University of Florida Shands. Nancy moved to the Brunswick/Saint Simons area to be near her daughter and family. She had a quick wit and a hard bite, and she was loved by her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, husband Alvin Thrun, and son-in-law Rich Goeldner.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra Goeldner, granddaughter Alexandra Goeldner, grandson Richard (Tripp) Goeldner III, and fur-baby Hero. Extended family includes Sally Baldwin, Michael & Julie Johnson, Tyler & Margaret Mimbs, Eric & Catherine Stewart and sons.

The family would like to thank the wonderful care of the staff at Sears Coastal Nursing and Rehab, Hospice of the Golden Isles, and her church family at Saint Simons Presbyterian Church.

There will be a service of interment in the Memorial Garden of Saint Simons Presbyterian Church on Monday, April 24th at 11:00am. Following the service, there will be a small reception for family & friends.
