Michael MacMillan Havens, 48, of Atlanta, Georgia recently passed away at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:30AM, Friday January 27th at St Mark’s Episcopal Church on Gloucester Street, Brunswick, GA.
Michael was born March 30, 1963 to Joyce Williams Havens and the late Rev. Henry Wilson Havens, Jr. in Halifax, VA.
He was a graduate of Brunswick High School class of 1981 where he was a member of the high school band, debate team, as well as, a member of The National Honor Society and was a highly decorated Boy Scout.
Michael went on to receive an Associate Degree from Brunswick Jr. College and an engineering degree from Southern Tech in Atlanta. He was a long time employee of Mansur Engineering in Atlanta and also regularly performed, locally, as a professional musician.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Claire Havens and his father, The Rev. Henry Wilson Havens Jr. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Joyce and George Almasi of St. Simons Island, Ga; a brother, Peter W Havens (Sherry) of Poulsbo, Wa; a brother Derek T Havens (Penny) of Lorton, VA; a brother Jonathan W Havens (Patrice) of Brunswick, GA; a sister Jennifer R Parks (Clay) of Hortense, GA and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
