Mary Jane Bland Peeples

Mary Jane Peeples, 87, of Brunswick, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10AM Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Palmetto Cemetery with Rev. Ed Hurst officiating. Mrs. Peeples grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Born May 18, 1927 in Bulloch County, Georgia to the late Frank B. and Annie W. Bland, she was a homemaker and had been a resident of Brunswick for the past 60 years. She was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed singing, writing songs and poetry, as well as playing the guitar and piano. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, L.J. “Pete” Peeples of Brunswick, two daughters, Cherry Harper and Husband Grady of Paris, TX, and Rosie Ozaki and husband Mike of Brunswick, a son, Laud E. Peeples, Jr. of Midway, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Myrtle Wallace and Annie Pearl Dixon both of Statesboro.
