Mary was born in Covington, KY the daughter of the late Carl Niederschmidt and the late Leona Combs Niederschmidt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Jacob Fisher; also three of her siblings, Betty McCoy, John Niederschmidt, and Evelyn Adkins.
She graduated from Holmes High School in Covington, Ky. and went on to study nursing and graduated with a LPN degree. She had a successful career as a nurse at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She relocated to Brunswick in 2005. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brunswick and regularly attended the Jekyll Island Baptist Chapel. Mary was a loving Aunt, with a compassionate spirit, a beautiful smile, and was quick witted. She enjoyed crafts and pottery. She also loved her cats which was affectionately known as “her boys”; Frankie, Tanner, Opie and Bob. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her brother, Robert Niederschmidt and his wife Delores; her sister-in-law, Lois Niederschmidt. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great and great- great, also survive.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 7th at 3:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with a catered reception. The memorial service to honor Mary’s life will follow at 4:00 p.m.in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Jekyll Island Baptist Chapel.
