She and her husband George travelled extensively and enjoyed the company of many friends in Ashley County and throughout the State of Arkansas. She was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and loved to watch the thoroughbreds run at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she had box seats for many years.
Mrs. Pugh also adored her grandchildren Ashley and Melissa and was very proud of their achievements and the lives they had made for themselves. Her great-grandchildren Logan and Emily were a source of joy to her.
Mrs. Pugh moved to St. Simons Island in 1998 and to the Marsh's Edge retirement community there in 2008 where she lived until her death. She made many friends on St. Simons Island and was an active member of the Island community. She supported many local organizations, including the Coastal Symphony, the Humane Society, and the Salvation Army. Mrs. Pugh particularly enjoyed the social life that was available to her at Marsh's Edge and was a frequent and enthusiastic participant in the many opportunities for libations and dining with her friends there. She enjoyed her life and her friends tremendously and tried to make the best of each day even as her health faltered. She spent many hours roaming the halls at Marsh's Edge on her mobility scooter seeking out friends and familiar faces.
