Marjorie Elaine Green

Marjorie Elaine Green, 80, of Jacksonville, departed this life Saturday, May 13, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11Am Wednesday, May 17, 2017 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral home with Rev. Avery Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.

Born April 29, 1937 in Pierce County Georgia to the late Adelbert L. and Alta R. Greene she was a retired educator having taught special education in The Duval County Public School System for over 20years. Mrs. Green grew up in Brunswick and was a graduate of Glynn Academy Class of 1955. She received her bachelor’s degree from LaGrange College, and her master’s from Georgia State. She was of the Methodist Faith and enjoyed watching the Western Channel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billy M. Green, Sr. and a brother Tommy Greene.

Survivors include her two sons, Billy M. Green, Jr., and wife Lisa of Jacksonville, FL, Frederick “Ricky” Green and wife Michelle of Middleburg, FL, five grandchildren, Caleb Powell and wife Dee, Caitlin Powell, Zack Peacock and wife Jocelyn, Chelsea Sizemore and Jared Connor, and Megan Sizemore, four great grandchildren, Evelyn, Emma, Eli, and Avery Jade, two brothers, Owen Greene and wife Linda of McIntosh County, Avery Green and wife Joann of St. Marys, and a sister, Shirley Johnson and husband Earl of Brunswick, several nieces and nephews.
