Marjorie Katye Cross

Marjorie Katye Cross, 83, of Brunswick, Georgia entered peacefully into her eternal home Sunday, November 21, 2021. She was a lifelong resident of Brunswick and the daughter of the late Edgar Lincoln Merrow Sr. and the late Verdie Mae Green Merrow. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Frank Cross; and a grandson, Cory Cross.

Marjorie was a graduate of Glynn Academy and retired from the Glynn County Board of Education Transportation Department. She was also an active member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and a member of the Dorcus Sunday School Class. She loved to spend time with her friends and family. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marjorie was devoted to her faith and enjoyed studying her Bible and Sunday School lessons. She and her late husband enjoyed traveling and camping together. Her fresh baked biscuits will be greatly missed by the family and she will always be remembered for her cooking skills. Her loving ways and kind heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memories are, son and daughter-in-law, William and Robin Cross of Brunswick, GA.; a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jack Kennedy of Brunswick, GA.; four grandchildren, Dewayne Kennedy (Wendee) of Brunswick, GA., Katie Hayslip (Matthew) of Lincolnton, GA., Keith Cross of Brunswick, GA., and Berry Thomas of Brunswick, GA.; 11 precious great grandchildren, Jack Darrin, Isabelle, Gracee, and Mary Margaret Kennedy, Aubrey, Kennedy, Kallie, and Kooper Hayslip, Mallory Spear, Gaige Thomas, and Harper Cross; one sister Peggy Rouse of Orlando, FL.; brother and sister-in-law, Edgar L. Merrow Jr. (Pete) and Lee of Lincolnton, GA.; and brother and sister-in-law, Edwin R. Merrow and Dorothy of St. Marys, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends between 10 – 11:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 Saturday in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Dana Swain officiating. The burial will follow the service in Palmetto Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Golden

Isle or Pine Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.
