Margaret Loutrell Poole

Margaret Poole, 80, of Darien, departed this life Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, January 19, 2018 at Golden Isles Christian Church with Brother Joe Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery with William Alvin “Bo” Poole, William Tyrel Poole, Jason Blake Simmons, Rickey Gulley, Roger Johnson, and Joey Devlin will serving as pallbearers.

Born November 2, 1937 in Glennville, Georgia to the late William D. and Marie S. Ray, she was a sales associate with GAP Stores and after her retirement she was a homemaker. Mrs. Poole had been a resident of McIntosh County since1974. She was a member of Golden Isles Christian Church in Brunswick, and enjoyed fishing, cooking and was also a seamstress.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Buddy Poole of Darien, three children, Jewel Marie Poole of Lacey, WA, William Alvin “Bo” Poole and wife Donna of Wasilla, AK, and Janice Loreece Poole Beecher of Darien, five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, two sisters, Debbie Williams and husband Wes of Jacksonville, FL, and Rozzie Nesbaum and husband Dale of MD, and two brothers, Jimmy Ray and wife Brenda, and Andy Ray and wife Audrey all of Rincon.
