Linda Castor Pannell, 76, of St. Simons Island departed this life Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. A funeral service is being held at Lord of Life Lutheran Church on St. Simons Island on October 12th at 4:00 PM followed by a celebration of life being held at Thrive at Frederica at 5:00 PM, 3615 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA.
Linda was born September 10, 1942 in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Leonard Castor and Jane Castor. She graduated from Greenville High School and attended the University of South Carolina. She was an executive secretary at Suntrust bank for 30 plus years. Linda loved bike riding, going to the beach, and driving around in her convertible. She taught shag lessons and loved to spend time with her friends and her grandchildren. She was always positive and had a beaming smile underneath her red cowboy hat.
Survivors include her children Leslie Entwistle and husband Craig Entwistle of St. Simons Island, Georgia, Leigh Pannell of Rockledge, Florida, Lori Connolly and husband Tim Connolly of Buford, Georgia, seven grandchildren, Allison Entwistle, Hayden Entwistle and wife Mary Frances Entwistle, Adam Entwistle, Banks Entwistle, Maggie Connolly, Madison Connolly, Braden Connolly, one great-grandchild Harry Reynolds Entwistle and a brother Richard Castor and sister-in-law Eula Castor of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was a vibrant woman who loved life and lived her life to the fullest. She asked that her family remember her by: “Remember me with smiles and laughter for that’s the way I’ll remember you all. If you remember me with tears and sorrow, then don’t remember me at all.”
