

Leona was born in Hortense, Georgia the daughter of the late Frank and Daisy Pierce. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Denise Wooten; a great grandchild, Katelyn Dugger; also four siblings, Evelean Harrell, Maybelle Clark, Frank Pierce Jr., and Lorraine Pierce.
Leona had resided in Brunswick for most of her life and was a homemaker. She enjoyed Gospel and Blue Grass music. She was also of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed spending time in the mountains and working with her flowers. She had a special fondness for butterflies and nature. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 62 years, Andrew Julian Wooten; Two Daughters, Barbara Joyce Harper (Johnny) and Susan D. Smith (Richard); one son, James Donald Wooten (Linda); six grandchildren, Laura Knowles (Michael), Matthew Mistisshen (Desiree), Brian Wooten (Lacey), Allison Wooten (Jonathan Beard), Christina Branson (Eddie), and AJ Smith; ten great grandchildren, Madison Hall, Claire Dugger, Jayce Wooten, Maddox Wooten, Easton Wooten, Leah Branson, Corey Branson, Avery Smith, Alivia Smith, and Annslee Smith; one sister, O’Dell Aspinwall. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Bro. Ritchie Self officiating. The burial will be at a later date in Palmetto Cemetery.
