Kimberly Rachell Strickland, age 45 of Brunswick, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. God called her home unexpectedly and she has left a great hole in our hearts and lives.
Kim was born March 7, 1973 and was preceded in death by her father, Milton D. Lynn, Paternal Grandparents; Eddie Lewis Lynn and Mandy Lee Faircloth of Waynesville, Georgia, and Maternal Grandparents; A.D. Turner Jr. and Mary Louise Nix of Brunswick, Georgia.
Kim was a 1991 Graduate of Brunswick High. She graduated from The Crown College with a bachelor’s degree in Education and a bachelor’s degree in Divinity in 1996. She served as a registrar for The Crown College for 10 years. She was a teacher and co-founder of the Lighthouse Learning Center in 2001. She later founded A Teacher’s Heart in 2005.
Kim was a Christian first and foremost. She loved to love big. She was a Sunday School Teacher, a Bell and Children’s Choir Director, and a wedding and shower coordinator. She co-founded the G.I.F.T.S home school co-op and taught at the Next Generation Homeschool Co-op. She was a Girl Scout Leader with troop 30024 for 9 years. She enjoyed painting, crafting, traveling, and on-line shopping. She aspired to do many things and succeeded at most but fell short in baking despite her best efforts. Her laugh was contagious, her eyes were kind and she was as loyal a friend as you could find.

Kim leaves us with these words: “Peace rules the day when Christ rules the heart.”
John 14:1-3 – Let not your heart be trouble ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
She was the most amazing Aunt Kim ever! It is still kind of crazy that there will be no more phone calls from her, no more Aunt and Niece movie dates, and no more Star Wars marathons (although we only made it through the second movie). She was truly the greatest Aunt Kim EVER! One of my favorite memories with her was when we went to the movies to see the Meg and at one moment of the movie, she let out a scream, what is funny about it is that it wasn’t even at a suspenseful part of the movie. Everyone in the movie theater turned around and looked at us like we were crazy! It was hilarious. Another one of my favorite memories was book character day at co-op. She and Momma decided to surprise me by dressing up as one of my greatest fears: Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. Momma told me that she and Aunt Kim were dressing up as Cabbage Patch Kids from when they were kids. I had no clue as to what they were doing. They really surprised me.
Riley Robertson
She was the best person ever! I miss her so much. She was the very best teacher and she would always have something to give me. She always had something nice to say. I love her so much.
Tori Robertson
I love my Momma so much. She was my whole world. My teacher, my care giver, my everything.
