Kenneth William Bush, 89, of Waynesville, departed this life Thursday, January 28, 2021 at his residence. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 6pm until 8pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Born January 13, 1932 in Portsmouth, Virginia to the late Kinnie Nathaniel and Marguerite Belle S. Bush, Kenneth was born into a Navy family, and is one of the last survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack that started the second world war. A youth of nine years old, he watched the attack from the base housing at Hickham Field. As a teenager, his family moved to Brunswick where he was a graduate of Glynn Academy Class of 1949. A lifelong car enthusiast, he founded the Foreign Car Center in 1957, and enjoyed racing his Porsche at rallies. He loved the outdoors and music. He played the trumpet, and attended many concerts in his life. Above all, he was kind to every person who ever crossed his path.
Survivors include his wife Celia Bush of Brunswick, daughter Lisi Guerrier and husband Mario of Davie, FL, three grandchildren, Alexander Rodriguez, Dylan Rodriguez, and Andre Guerrier, daughter Kimberly Cook and husband Lee of Port Wentworth, FL, son Bruce Oscar and wife Deb of Willimantic, CT, a sister, Jaki Apetz of Orlando, FL, four nephews, Kinn, Kevin, Bryant, and Greg Tutas, and special family friends, caregiver Nealene Coddington of Waynesville, and Foreign Car Center manager for 42 years Sandi Dobbs.
