Joyce was born June 4, 1957, to the late Elise and A. E. Potter and had been a resident of Gateway Group Home Pine Haven in Brunswick for 30 years. She has been a resident of Glynn County her entire life and a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Gerri Lipthratt (Jack) and Bonni Reddick (lvan); two brothers, Ray Potter Sr. (Rosie) and Rickey Potter Sr (Karryn); twelve nieces and nephews and over twenty great nieces and nephews. Joyce also had a stand in family, Sandra “Kay Kay” Williams, Kim Johnson, and Marlene Flowers from Gateway Group Home.
Joyce was one of the first clients at Glynn Payton (a school for the mentally challenged students) which is now known as the Workshop, where she put trays together for the hospital.
Visitation will be held Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am in the funeral home Chapel with Reverend Harold Hand officiating. Active pallbearers will be Rickey Potter Jr, Jeffery Potter, Chad Collins, Josh Hollaway, Phillip Parker and Mark Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Potter Jr, Eric Potter, Jimmy Potter, Van Reddick and members and staff of Gateway Pine Haven.
