John Elliott Harrell

Elliott was born on May 27, 1936 to John and Odessa (Underwood). The family resided in Lyons, Georgia. Elliott retired from City of Brunswick after working in the water department for many years.

Elliott lived a life devoted to God and Jesus as a devout Christian. He had a lifelong love of music that he shared with his wife Nancy. Elliott was an accomplished guitarist and banjoist and he would often get his Martin guitar out and play and sing. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. Elliott and Nancy volunteered their time visiting nursing homes to bring the joy of music to their residents. Elliott was an enthusiastic gardener and every year throughout most of his life he would grow a wonderful garden.

In addition to his parents, Elliott was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Nancy Ann Harrell; sisters, Lillian Holton, Earline Harrell, Jacqueline Harrell and Lillie Mae Andreu; brothers, Fred Harrell, Vernon Harrell, and Jack Harrell. He is survived by his step-children, Kathryn K. Thompson, Sheryl N. Hale, Lowell Robert Webster, Paul L. Webster (Kimberly), and Russell G. Webster; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Elliott will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday at 12:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons. A private graveside service will follow.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Coastal Hospice for the loving care they provided to our step-father.
