John was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey March 17, 1933 to the late John Frederick Fedak, Sr. and the late Judith Ziller Fedak.
In addition to John’s parents he is preceded in death by his sisters Eileen M. Wickers and Audrey A. Price, his brother Raymond F. Fedak, and his grandson Michael A. Fedak.
Survivors includes John’s loving wife of 68 years Concetta Palazzo Fedak of St. Simons Island, GA; children John F. Fedak of Boulder CO, Linda A. Wilson of Hoschton GA, Michael S. Fedak of Fairfield CT, and Cynthia M. Fedak of Belleville NJ; grandchildren Melissa M. Fedak of Longmont CO, Laura Pedulli of Marion MA, John F. Fedak IV of Longmont CO, Michael J. Wilson of Clemson SC, Erica E. Wilson of Woodstock GA, Peter Z. Fedak of Salt Lake City UT, Ryan B. Fedak of Bel Air MD, and Emily A. Fedak of Fairfield CT; great grandchildren Damon N. Wilson of Woodstock GA, Christian G. and Angela D. Pedulli of Marion MA, McLendon L. Wilson of Clemson SC, and Ellie Rose Fedak of Longmont CO.
John was a Senior Executive with a number of Fortune 500 companies, retiring from Ford Aerospace Corporation after 21 years and subsequently from the Infocom Technologies Group after 15 years.
John made significant technical contributions to the space industry and the international communications industry. He was intimately involved with the Apollo and LEM programs in putting a man on the moon to developing simulator systems to train the Apollo and lunar astronauts. He also led the development of satellite communications systems for third world nations.
John had many interests outside of his highly successful career. He was an avid reader and photographer and held many leadership roles in both his communities and his church. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church on St. Simons Island and was an active volunteer giving his time, talents, and resources to many causes and organizations.
A funeral mass is to be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at St. William Catholic Church, 2300 Frederica Rd. St. Simons Island, GA., where Msgr. Christopher Shriek is to officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. William Catholic Church of St. Simons Island.
