Jo Ann Collins Andrews, 67, of Brunswick, GA passed away Tuesday the 24th of December 2013 at her residence. She is a lifelong native of Brunswick, GA born the 10th of August 1946 and is the daughter of the late Joseph Walter Collins and the late Dorothy Jane Summerville. JoAnn was employed by the City of Brunswick Police Department in 1976. She was the first female Patrol Officer to walk the beat for the City of Brunswick Police Department. She then went to work at FLETC for the Park Police as a Administrative Professional and later as a Training Tech for Fish and Wildlife Services/Refuges, retiring in January 2007. She was an avid outdoors person who loved to hunt and fish. Mrs. Andrews leaves many fond memories that will be cherished by all.
In addition to Mrs. Andrew’s parents she is preceded in death by her husband F.D. “Buddy” Andrews.
Survivors include her son Henry Felton Andrews of Waynesville, GA; a grand-daughter Kirsten Cierra Poppell ; two great-grandsons Ethan and Levi Poppell all of Jesup, GA; her sister Linda Collins Amazon of Brunswick, GA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life gathering will be held 3 PM Sunday the 29th of December 2013 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with Mr. Abe Brown officiating.
