Corky was a native of West Hollywood, CA but spent many years at multiple locations in Alaska working with oil companies, 40 years living in Pryor, OK and the last 16 months in Brunswick, GA with his son. Corky proudly served in the U.S. Navy in Airship Squadron TWO, NAAS, Glynco, GA as his last assignment before being honorably discharged in 1953. He loved hunting, fishing, and old cars.
Corky Martin was pre-deceased by his parents, Jim O. and Aletha W. Martin; his brother, John Martin and his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Gilstrap Martin; a son, Michael Kidd and a great grandson, Elijah Hinson.
Corky is survived by his son, Michael E. Martin (Paddy); daughter, Tamara Pellegrom (Tom); grandchildren, Erica Martin Hinson, Michael E. Martin, II (Jeannie), Leah Kidd Phillips (Joe) and Molly Pellegrom, and great grandchildren, Joshua, Candace and Zachariah Hinson, Josiah and Adalynn Phillips, Rory Martin and Scarlet Quimby; a great-great grandson, Jayden Hinson; a brother, Joe Martin (Margo) and a daughter-in-law, Colle Kidd.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
