Jewel Ricks Thomas

Jewel Ricks Thomas, 98, of Brunswick, Ga., passed away Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at Pinecrest Cemetery in Vidalia, Ga., Rev. Don Spires, Rev. Darrell Joiner and Rev. Ron Stinson, will officiate. Burial will follow the service.

Born April 19, 1918 to the late Narvis and Ruby Ricks. She has been a resident of Brunswick since 1982. Mrs. Thomas was the owner of the Ladies Boutique in Starke, Florida, and a member of the Kentucky Cournel , Kentucky Page, Woman’s Club of Ormond Beach, Florida, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She is also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to Mrs. Thomas parents she is preceded in death by her husband Leon Justin Thomas, and her son Leon Thomas,Jr.

Survivors include her daughter Judy Thomas Roberson of Jacksonville, FL; sister Bobbie Mapel of Brunswick. Ga., daughter- in- law Jackie Thomas of Altamont Springs, Fl., five grandchildren , six great grandchildren and one nephew.
