Born October 3, 1991, she was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and granddaughter. Survived by her parents, Heather Childers Hamby, David Hamby, and David Harper. As well as siblings, Ashley Childers, Wesley Maxwell; a nephew, Jay Riley Childers; and grandparents, Kathleen S Childers, Jay Childers.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Luna James, now wrapped in her mother’s arms once more. Jessica loved Luna more than words and those who knew her all know she is so happy to finally have the chance to be the mother she always wanted to be, more than anything in this world.
Jessica attended Oglethorpe Point Elementary School, St. Simons Elementary, Glynn Middle School, Glynn Academy High School, and Valdosta State University.
Jessica adored children which lead her to pursue a career in early childhood learning. “Miss Jessica” loved all her students as if they were her own; striving to instill a passion for reading and leadership into the heart of everyone she taught.
Jessica was a truly wonderful woman whose impact will be forever felt by her family who love her endlessly. She was a selfless person whose passing has left an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love is forever be engrained in the hearts of all those she knew.
A celebration of life will take place at Village Creek Landing on St. Simons Island, from 6-8pm, on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.
