Mr. Lane was a native of Wayne County, Georgia, but had resided in Glynn County for the past 45 years. He was born July 2, 1944, the son of the late Nathan Sinclair Lane and the late Catherine Burney Lane. Mr. Lane was a graduate of Wayne County High School. He had been in the logging industry since he was 16 years old. He owned and operated Lane’s Logging Company for 42 years. Mr. Lane was an active member of Bible Baptist Church, where he was an usher until his health no longer permitted him to do so. He was an avid collector of classic cars and he also enjoyed rebuilding them as well. He loved the outdoors and going on car rides while looking at the trees. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lane was preceded in death by 14 of his siblings. Survivors include his loving wife of forty-five years, Laura Gail Lupo Lane; two daughters Angela Mussara and husband Bobby and Dana Mixon; four grandsons Jonathan Mussara and wife Chelsea, Joshua Mussara, Jacob Mussara and wife Shelby, and Koty Mixon; sister Bessie Adams. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wed., Aug. 10, 2016 at Bible Baptist Church, with Dr. Mike Landrum officiating, with Mr. Louie Lupo, and Dr. Bob Bartlett assisting . The interment will follow the service in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Jonathan Mussara, Joshua Mussara, Jacob Mussara, Koty Mixon, Tommy Gale and Henry Pruitt.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of Bible Baptist Church and all fellow loggers.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Bible Baptist Church or Hospice of the Golden Isles.
