Jean Margaret Smith

Jean Margaret Smith, 87, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at her residence. The family will receive friends from 10-11AM on Wednesday 15, 2012 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with a memorial service starting at 11AM.

Mrs. Smith was born June 19, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio and is the daughter of the late John and Pearl Ellis of Oakhurst, New Jersey where she graduated from Monmouth University. She was a Cadet Nurse in World War II, a Registered Nurse instructor at the Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia and worked with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia as a Medicare Claims Adjuster. She was a member of Gentian Baptist Church since 1957.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years: Willis C. Smith; a son: Dr. Clifford Anthony Smith, Optometrist and a great grandson: Eliot Smith. Survivors include her daughter: Rebecca Lou Smith Griffin (Larry Austin) her grandchildren: Dana Lorrine Hudson (Eric), Jennifer Elizabeth Parks Gomez (Gene), April Christina Smith, Katilyn Smith (Garrett) and Taylor Anthony Smith; her great grandchildren: Jennifer, Trina, Jonathan, Zachary, Joshua and Chaz Hudson, Christopher Gomez, Frederick and Elizabeth Parks and Sophie Alexandria Smith. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family who loved her very much.
