Janet Hudson Brown

Janet Rebecca (Hudson) Brown, 91, died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Marsh's Edge on St. Simons Island. She was born in Virgilina, Virginia on July 25, 1926, to Warren and Marian (Glasscock) Hudson. She graduated with a degree in nursing from the University of Virginia, where she met her husband, Dwight. She moved to Brunswick with her husband and two sons in 1959 and has been an area resident ever since.

Janet was predeceased in 1998 by her husband of 48 years, Dr. Dwight J. Brown, Jr.

She is survived by her brother, Kent Hudson (Ann); two sons, David (Mary Ann) and Mark (Melanie); two grandchildren Christopher (Robyn) and Emily (Ben); and three great-grandchildren, John, Alice and Marian Brown.

The family wishes to thank Helen Hartenstein from BrightStar Care of Coastal Georgia, the staff of Marsh's Edge, and Hospice of the Golden Isles for the outstanding and compassionate care they gave our mother.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 10:00 AM at Christ Church, Frederica, 6329 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army of Coastal Georgia, 1624 Reynolds Street, Brunswick, GA 31520 or the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, Georgia 31525.
