James Henry Crosby, 66, of Darien, GA passed away Friday the 23rd of August 2013 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick, GA. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Monday the 26th of August 2013 at Christian Renewal Church, Brunswick, GA with Reverend Bill Ligon officiating, with burial in New Home Cemetery in Offerman, GA . Mr. Crosby will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will be receiving friends from 12 PM until service time.
Serving active pallbearers will be Tim Crosby, Dave Peacock, Brock Peacock, Courtney Crosby, Lynn Crosby, and George Stiegler.
Family will receive friends Sunday the 25th of August 2013 from 4 PM – 7 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Mr. Crosby was a native of Pierce County born the 24th of August 1946 to the late Courtland Sims Crosby and the late Emma Aileen Bowen Crosby. He had been a residence of Glynn County from 1970 – 1998, living in Darien Georgia from 1998 until present. Mr. Crosby is a veteran of the United States Army, and was owner operator of Crosby Refrigeration Heating and Air INC. from which he retired.
Mr. Crosby enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren and his God child. He was a avid fisherman and hunter, and a member of Christian Renewal Church. He leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all.
In addition to Mr. Crosby’s parent’s he is preceded in death by his brother Thomas “Tom” Crosby, his two sisters’ Mary “Mink” Smith, and Dorothy Crews.
Mr. Crosby is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Bonnie “ Vicki” Crosby of Darien, GA; two sons Chad Crosby of Darien, GA; and Jeffrey Sean Crosby and wife Heather of Brunswick, GA ; three grandchildren Skyler, Riley,and Makenzie Crosby all of Brunswick, GA; a god daughter Mikayla Stapleton of Stathem, GA; two step- grandchildren Madison and Gage Evans of Brunswick, GA; two brothers William Crosby and wife Linda of Scottsdale, VA, and David Crosby of Blackshear, GA; a sister Martha Crosby Blackman and husband George of Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Christian Renewal Church, 4265 Norwich St. Ext., Brunswick, GA 31520 or to the charity of donor’s choice.
