The Tattnall County native was a 1959 graduate of Glennville High School. He began work as an architectural draftsman, then enjoyed a successful sales career that led to opportunities to reside in many cities in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. Remembering weekends as a young boy fishing with his father in the Shellman Bluff area, he moved his family to McIntosh County in 1971 where he later founded Crescent Equipment Co., Inc. He loved living on the coast, and in his spare time, he enjoyed boating with his family, fishing, cooking and entertaining.
Revis will be remembered by family and friends as a soft-spoken individual that made a significant impact on all that he met and the community in general. While he chose a modest life, he counted his riches as the many friendships and family experiences that he cherished so much.
He is survived by his mother, Letha Byrum of Glennville; two sons, Jay Barrow (Kay) and Ty Barrow (Dona), both of Darien; two daughters, Casey Barrow of Athens and Caitlin Barrow of Atlanta and three granddaughters, Jennifer, Ashley and Cindy Barrow, all of Darien. An aunt and many cousins also survive.
Visitation will be held Monday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home Chapel with Pastor V. Vernon Eckleberry officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in the Glennville City Cemetery.
The family is gathered at the home of Jay and Kay Barrow, 201 Screven Street, Darien, and suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in lieu of flowers.
