J. C. "Buddy" Burdette

J. C. “Buddy” Burdette, 85, of Brunswick, departed this life, Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 12, 2016 at Glyndale Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Creekmore officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery with Donnie Hutcheson, Wayne Hutcheson, Frankie Faulk, J.L. Oglesby, Greg McKamey, and Jimmy Rogers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Fishers of Men Sunday School Class.

Born August 12, 1930 in Salem, Alabama to the late David O. and Mattie Lorraine W. Burdette, he was a Veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Burdette retired from Georgia Power as a mechanic, and had been a resident of Glynn County for 61 years. Mr. Burdette was a member of Glyndale Baptist Church and Fishers of Men Sunday School Class. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sara E. Burdette, and a daughter, Lorraine B Johnson, both of Brunswick, and a sister, Gloria Gower of Akron, OH.
