Mr. Dixon was a native of Fitzgerald, Georgia. He was the son of the late Meldron C. and Ethel Griffin Dixon. He was the husband of the late Christine Owen Dixon. He also served his country honorably during World War 11 receiving the American Theater Medal, Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and a World War 11 Victory Medal. After the service, he and his wife move to Brunswick, Georgia to start a family. While living in Brunswick, they owned and operated several successful businesses. Then in 1978, they moved to Hinesville, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, Georgia on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 10-11:00 AM. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 22, 2016 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The interment will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. The reverend Bob Miller will officiate the services.
Pallbearers serving will be Don A. Dixon Sr., Gary Allen Dixon, Henry Trey Dixon, Don A. Dixon Jr., Jeremy R. Dixon, and William “Bo” Korink.
Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Owen Dixon; his mother and father, Ethel and Meldron C. Dixon; a son, Henry M. Dixon Jr.; a sister, Catherine McGee. He is survived by two sons, Don A. Dixon Sr. (Kim), Gary Dixon; a niece, Sabrie Bailey. Three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mr. Dixon loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. However, his family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
