Hazel Hall Rigdon, 95, a longtime resident of Brunswick, departed this life Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11AM Monday, January 11, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Brunswick with Dr. Chris Winford officiating. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with Galin Hall, Tony Martin, Tim Hall, Jeff Dixon, Taylor Gordon and Gary Fiveash serving as pallbearers. Members of Telephone Pioneers, Hope Sunday School Class, and Golden Isles Camping Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born July 25, 1925 in Tift County, Georgia to the late Zachariah Hall and Annie Lee W. Hall, she retired as a test technician from Southern Bell. Mrs. Rigdon had been a resident of Glynn County since 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brunswick and Hope Sunday School Class. Mrs. Rigdon enjoyed traveling and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Grady Rigdon, a brother, Herbert Hall, and five sisters, Emma Lou Hagan, Evelyn Dixon, Clyde Rogers, Lucille Conner, and Mildred Branch.
Survivors include her children, Jan R. Bailey of Kingsland, Terry Lee Rigdon and wife Kay of Suwanee, GA and Joan H. Smith and husband Joe of St. Marys, four grandchildren, Michael Bailey (Cynthia), Shannon B. Gooch (Andy), Kristen R. Hipps (Blake), and Justin Rigdon, seven great grandchildren, Ellyn Bailey, Grady Bailey, Gavin Bailey, Emma Gooch, Grant Gooch, Rose Kate Hipps, and Madison Hipps, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3pm until 5 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The family would also like to thank Lakes Crossing Senior Care and Hospice of the Golden Isles for the excellent care taken of our mother during the final days of her life.
