Hazel Jacqueline Tucker Chancy

Hazel was born in Brunswick, Georgia on August 15, 1929 to the late Mr. William Tucker and the late Mrs. Pearl Tucker. She was a member of Blythe Island Baptist Church and a previous member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Silver Liners Dinner Club. She was previously employed with Brunswick Manufacturing and later with Sidney Lanier Elementary School. Hazel enjoyed traveling, sewing, trips to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents William Tucker and Pearl Tucker; her late husband and the father of her children, James “Jimmy” D. Bridger; husband, John R. Chancy; two brothers, Wesley Tucker and William “Clarence” Tucker. She is survived by her two caring daughters, Jackie Driggers and Linda Ray (Johnny) both of Brunswick, GA; her only son, James Bridger (Marcia) of Woodbine, GA; She is blessed to be survived by five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three precious great-great grandchildren. A dear friend Essie Burke also survives.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The family cordially invites you to attend a graveside service held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Palmetto Cemetery with Pastor Tim Brown officiating the service.

Active Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons, Robbie Ray, Erik Ray, James Driggers, Johnathan Landon, Austin Loper, and Greg Loper.

Hazel was known for her caring and loving heart both as a mother and grandmother. She was also a loving and caring wife and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
