Faye Ogden Copeland, 74, of Waverly, GA went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday Feb. 2, 2011 at the Brunswick Hospital of Southeast Georgia Health Systems. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday Feb. 7, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Brunswick 1st Ward with Bishop Shaw McVeigh officiating. Interment will follow in Ella Park Cemetery in Camden County. Dusty Copeland, Mark Copeland, Russell Copeland, Ricky Copeland, Barry Copeland, David Copeland, Brian Vansickle and Kevin Padgett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Brice, Billy Copeland, bus drivers of Glynn County Public Schools, Dr. William Grubb, Dr’s. Ted and Emily Feely, Dr. Marsha Certain, Dr. David Sudduth, Dr. Jack Amie, Dr. Burnegal and the nurses of SEGA Medical Center, and the high priest group of 1st ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Born February 16, 1936 in Glynn County, Georgia to the late Elbert and Beatrice Clark Ogden, she was a veteran school bus driver with the Glynn County School System for 25 years. Mrs. Copeland was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved children. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving 25 years as a primary Sunday School teacher and 8 years with the Family History Library helping patrons searching for information. Mrs. Copeland also loved the outdoors, spending time fishing, or helping her husband tend to the family home place. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Ogden.
Survivors include her husband and love of her life for 54 years, Vernon A. Copeland of Waverly, two sons, Vernon Copeland Jr. and wife Vicki of Brunswick, and Larry Copeland and wife Lisa of Camden County , four grandchildren, Jonathon Copeland, Kimberly Copeland, Dusty Copeland and Mark Copeland, great granddaughter, Riley Copeland, a brother Rudy Ogden of Brunswick, and a sister in law, Martha Nell Ogden of Brunswick, many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
The family wishing to continue with her love of children and historical preservation request memorial contributions be made to the Georgia Masonic Youth Homes, The Georgia Sherriff’s Association, or Bryan Lang Historical Library of Woodbine, Georgia in her honor.
